White Goods & Original Packaging:
When shipping larger items like TVs or fridges, you can always use the original packaging. This ensures your items are safely secured during transit, providing maximum protection for your valuable goods.

Best way to pack

Properly packing your box is crucial, especially for international shipping. During transit, including customs checks, authorities may randomly inspect and handle boxes. To ensure your cargo arrives undamaged, pack with care, as we lack control over these situations. Refer to the guidelines below; our in-house packaging team is available for assistance with your specific packing needs.

Follow below steps

  • Select the appropriate cargo boxes:
    • When transporting your goods, it is crucial to opt for a robust and secure box that ensures the protection of your items from potential damage. InterHub cargo boxes are specifically crafted for secure shipping, designed to endure the challenges of international travel.
  • Efficiently pack your goods:
    • It is imperative to pack your goods efficiently by filling the box to capacity without any empty spaces. Leaving voids in the box can result in items shifting during shipping, leading to potential damage.
  • Utilize packing materials:
    • Employ packing materials, such as bubble wrap, packing peanuts, and crumpled paper, to safeguard your items from damage during transit.
  • Arrange heavier items at the bottom:
    • Enhance box stability by placing heavier items at the bottom, reducing the risk of tipping during shipping and transportation.
  • Position fragile items in the middle:
    • Cushion fragile items from impact by packing them in the middle of the box.
  • Place lighter items on top:
    • Simplify box handling by positioning lighter items on top.
  • Securely seal the box:
    • Use carton sealing tape for the most effective closure of cardboard boxes. Carton sealing tape is strong, durable, and resistant to loosening over time. Avoid using less robust tapes, such as duct tape, masking tape, or electrical tape, as they may not provide adequate sealing for cardboard boxes.
  • Clearly document shipper and consignee details:
    • Write shipper and consignee details legibly in the designated area on the box.

Additional tips for packing specific items include

  • Fragile items: Safeguard fragile items by wrapping them in bubble wrap or packing peanuts and placing them in a box with ample packing material for added protection.
  • Clothes: Fold clothing items and neatly place them in boxes. Alternatively, optimize space by utilizing vacuum-sealed bags.
  • Books: Position books vertically in boxes to prevent damage during transit.
  • Electronics: Ideally, pack electronics in their original boxes. In the absence of original packaging, wrap electronics in bubble wrap and place them in a box with sufficient packing material.
  • Food: Consider the type of food being packed, as some items require more delicate handling. For instance, crackers may need to be packed in a box with packing peanuts, while granola bars may not require additional padding.
    • The anticipated duration of food storage: For extended storage periods, consider packing the food in a box with a desiccant packet to absorb moisture.
    • Environmental temperature: In hot environments, store food in a cool, dry place to preserve its quality.

Guide to Safely Packing a TV for Shipping

Optimal method for securely packing a television for shipping when the original box is unavailable

  • Prepare your materials: a spacious cardboard box, packing paper, bubble wrap, packing tape, and, if needed, a screen protector. If an original TV box is unavailable, Detach the TV from its stand for simplified packing and enhanced protection.
  • Begin by wrapping the TV in packing paper to guard against scratches. Add an extra layer of safeguarding with bubble wrap for cushioning. Place the wrapped TV securely in the cardboard box, ensuring a snug fit with minimal excess space. Minimize movement during shipping by filling any gaps with packing peanuts or soft material.
  • Seal the box tightly with packing tape to prevent accidental openings. Label the box as “Fragile” and specify “this side up” for careful handling.
  • For secure long-distance shipping, consider professional services with expertise in packing and transporting TVs.
